Driving Out to the Country

By Carrots 'N' Cake (Visit website)

Good morning, folks! 8-)

Mal, Murphy, and I are driving out to the country later this morning. Mal is off from school this week, so we’re taking advantage of the day by visiting one of our favorite places out in the boonies. Grandma (my mom) also has the day off from work today, so she is taking Murphy to enjoy a doggie play date with his second cousins, Bella and Sadie, so Mal and I can have the afternoon to ourselves. We also drive right past my mom’s house, so our little plan seems to benefit everyone. My mom really likes hanging out with Murphy. Don’t you think she should get a pug too? ;-)

Breakfast

Mmm! I had something really yummy for breakfast this morning: an iced soy coconut tea latte! It was made with vanilla soy milk and Golden Moon Coconut Pouchong tea, which I just added to my OpenSky shop yesterday. (The Golden Moon teas are also sold in 2.5 ounce tins, so you can sample a few different flavors.)

As a coffee drinker, I am very picky about the tea I drink. In fact, there are less than a half dozen teas that I truly like and continue to purchase. I typically like sweet teas with a lot of flavor, but most are too weak for me. The Coconut Pouchong tea is one of the best I have ever tasted– perhaps even better than my beloved Sugar Cookie Sleigh Ride tea!

I planned to make an iced tea latte this morning, so I brewed the Coconut Pouchong last night before I went to bed. The aroma was heavenly! This tea is derived from natural coconut flavor from real coconut milk, instead of the artificial flavoring that you find in some other tea blends. The subtle sweetness of the coconut is the perfect compliment to the tea and the coconut adds just enough sweetness no additional sugar is needed.

I also enjoyed a delicious bowl of almond pecan oatmeal with two scoops of Teddie peanut butter in the mix. De-lic-ious! :-D
