Dry Roasted Lemon Pepper chicken
U need- Chicken - 1 1/2 lb cut into medium sized pieces ginger -garlic paste-2 tblsp red onions - 2 (medium) chopped 1 tomato,chopped oil - 3 tbsp turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp garam masala - 1 tsp freshly ground black/red pepper powder - 11/2 tblsp spices to b ground-cumin seeds, coriander seeds, fennel seeds, and poppy seeds-1 tsp each Juice of 1 lemon salt to taste Method Marinate the chicken with 1/2 tblsp of freshly ground pepper powder,1/2 tsp garam masala powder,turmeric and 1 tblsp of ggp..mix well...cover and keep in the refrigerator for about 1 hr.., Heat some oil in a small pan..add cumin seeds, coriander seeds, fennel seeds, and poppy seeds. Stir and fry briefly until lightly roasted. Put these into a large coffee grinder and grind to a powder. Empty into the container of an electric blender. In the same pan add some more oil add onions fry til brown .add tomato ..fry til mushy...cool and add with the above spices.Add remaning garlic-ginger paste, to the blender as well, Process until you have a fine paste, pushing down with a rubber spatula if needed. Heat some oil in a nonstick pan add the marinated chicken and fry til browm..stirring continuosly..remove and keep aside. Now heat remaining oil add the ground paste,fry til oil ouzes out..add chicken peices,remaining freshly ground pepper powder & garam masala and salt and mix well.add lemon juice..if u prefer gravy like consistency add water as reqd.
