Everyday Magick

By Confessions of a Kitchen Witch (Visit website)

Photo of Me 04/2011

Oftentimes I get emails from people asking me to send them spells for all sorts of things, especially Love Spells. When I return their inquiry explaining what true magick is, I normally do not get a response back. Witchcraft is not an abbracadabra, *poof* your wish is granted kind of thing. Magick is in your everyday and as I was driving back home after dropping off my husband at work this very early morning, I got to thinking what magick I have in my life and here is what I found:

~Spending an afternoon with both my older kids (20 and 15) window shopping and going to Used and Rare book shops, and vintage stores. To me the magick is that both my children, although older still want to spend the time with me when they could be doing so many other things.

~Seeing the change in my son after years of a drug induced haze. Being able to put my head on my pillow every night, knowing that this day was good to him and I say my prayer every morning that another day will treat him well and he will continue to grow into the wonderful man he is and the person I have always known him to be.

~The light I see in my daughter's eyes that had disappeared a long while ago and knowing that she is safe with me again. Hearing her laugh. Laughing with her when we are acting crazy and silly.

~Watching the leaves unfurl as Spring finally made Her presence. Noticing how green everything is now and how colorful the world is once again as winter has finally passed. Feeling the warmth of the sun on my face again. The smell of a Fresh Spring rain.

~That indescribable feeling of the night air in Spring when it's not too hot but warm enough that it feels like you are wrapped in mystery.

~The magick of my husband's hand on mine as we drive in the car. The smile on his face when I buy him an unexpected *just because* gift.

~My life as it is in this very moment in time as I can not fortell the future but embracing this present moment.

This is what I refer to as Everyday Magick~

Namaste~
