If you often indulge in a sweet stop at the Ikea cafeteria during your shopping trips, you have surely tasted their famous Daim cake. Why not make this cake at home now?!

Place the shortcrust pastry in the springform pan (fold the edges if it's too high). Prick with a fork or fill with weights like beans and pre-bake for 15 minutes at 350°F (180°C).
Beat the egg yolks with the sugar until the mixture whitens. Bring the cream, milk, and sweetened condensed milk to a boil in a saucepan. Add the seeds from the vanilla bean. When the mixture boils, add it to the sweetened egg yolks.
Pour this mixture into the pie crust. Roughly chop 3.5 ounces of Daim candy and add them to the cream.
Bake for 35 minutes at 280°F (140°C). Allow to cool completely after baking.
Ganache:
Bring the cream to a boil, then pour it hot over the pieces of milk chocolate. Mix until smooth and homogeneous. Pour over the well-cooled pie. Arrange 3.5 ounces of chopped Daim candy on top. Allow to cool.Once well cooled, gently unmold the cake. And there you have it, your Daim cake is ready!
