Gluten Free Girl and the Chef: Cookbook Review
Amazing photographs, great recipes, and a love story? Shauna Ahern is the infamous Gluten-Free Girl (now with the appendage "and the Chef"). Her blog has been a source of information and inspiration for many who are diagnosed with Celiacs and her zeal for food, life, and love is evident in every blog post and picture. Her cookbook is a treasure to read and cook from. Her recipes are devoid of the usual gluten-free substitutions of mediocre baking reipes. Instead she focuses on the foods that are naturally gluten free. With recipes like Braised White Beans, Potato Leek Soup with Truffle Honey, and Blue Cheese Cheescake with a Fig Crust, this cookbook focuses on the wide variety of foods we can still eat. The Love Story is equally as important as the recipes within. Each recipe is paired with a segment of their story so that you can hear about not only how the recipe came about but the first time they cooked it together. Love and food, the perfect pairing. Just be careful that you don't become so engrossed in the story that you burn your dinner (speaking from experience here.) Thank you Shauna and Daniel for gracing us with the amazing stories, tips, and recipes. You've catapulted eating gluten-free to a whole new level and we all thank you for it! related searches : Gluten
