Holiday Baking. Baking from the heart!

The topic of my blog tonight will be holiday baking. I believe that more cakes, pies, cookies and assorted breads are baked between now and December 31st. than at any other time of te year. Whether it is cakes or breads, the same desire is always wanted. Moist, delicious and baked by you from scratch!



I believe that people who only cook once a year and don't have their own tried and true recipes should rely on the quick and easy products that they have available on the super market shelves. After all, it is just a minute to prepare and it is, after all, mistake proof. I also believe that these same people should not bake these breads or cakes for gifts. The choice to bake a holiday gift should be home baked, baked from scratch. Only then is it a gift of the heart. It is showing the recipient that you have taken time making their gift and not purchasing it from the store or using a quick bread. The recipe should be yours or something special that when they receive it, they will look forward to receiving it again and again. Thus creating your baking traditions. It is a very personal gift after all. A gift of time and love.



So get out your Grandmother's, mother's, or your very own recipes and bake your little hearts out. Also, put it in a lovely ceramic baking dish or holiday cake plate making it a lovely presentation
