Mangalore Prawns Curry Recipe
Ingredients: Prawns - 1 cup, cleaned and de-veined Onion - 1 medium, finely chopped Coconut oil - 2 tbsp Curry leaves - 8/10 no Salt, as per taste For the masala: Coconut - 1 medium, scraped Onion - 1 medium Garlic - 2 flakes Pepper corn - 7/8 Cumin seeds - 1 tsp Mustard - 1/2 tsp Turmeric - 1/2 tsp Tamarind - 1" Coriander seeds - 1 tsp Red chili powder - 1 tbsp Cornflour - 1 tsp, mixed in little water Method: Grind all the ingredients mentioned for the masala above into a smooth fine paste. Heat oil in a pan. Add curry leaves and onions. Saute until golden brown. Add the prawns and cover cook until the prawns are half done. Add the ground masala paste, salt and continue cooking until prawns are done. Serve hot. Serving tip: Garnish with chopped coriander and serve hot with rice.
