Meen Pulikulambu (Fish in Tamarind sauce)
![]() Last Sun we have great lunch in garden.....its very simple menu..but we enjoying eating outside hse.... fish pulikulambu and cabbage fry...and papads and some lemonade make perfect meal for the day. Here how i make , Fish Pulikulambu, Fish fillet- 2 cut into pieces Brinjal-2 cut into pieces Okra/lady finger- cut into halves Tomato- 2 chopped finely Ginger/garlic paste- 1 tbspn Coconut milk- 1/2 cup Tamarind Juice(thick)- 1/4 cup Fish Masala- 2 tbsp Chili powder- 1 tsp Pepper pwd- 1/2 tsp Salt as taste For tempering, Onion-1 medium chopped finely Mustard seeds- 1/4 tsp Urad dal- 1/4 tsp Fenugreek seeds- 1/4 tsp Cumin seeds- 1/4 tsp Green chilies- 2 split Curry leaves -1 strand How I cook, Extract tamarind juice.Mix tamarind juice ,squezee in tomato,garlic ginger paste and all dry powder with brinjal n okra.Cook in medium heat.Once the brinjal n okra half cook,add fish in.Cook in simmer.Once the fish cook,add coconut milk.Cook another 5 minutes.Meanwhile heat oil in kadai ,add mustards,urad,fenugreek,cumin seeds.Once its splutter add chopped onions,curry leaves and green chilies.Saute till the onions turn light brown and thrown in the gravy..and close the lid.
Cabbage fry wth Green peas, Heat oil in kadai , add mustard seeds,cumin seeds and dry red chilies.Saute for 3 minutes then add chopped cabbage.Fry for sometime,then add turmeric pwd and salt.Mix well.Pour some water ,and let the cabbage cook.Once the cabbage is half cook,add canned green peas.Cook another 5 minutes.
