Onion and Tomatoe Gravy
Ingredients: Small onions - 1/2 cupGarlic - 2 clovesTomatoes - 2 plum tomatoesChilli powder - 1 1/2 tspTurmeric powder - 1/2 tspFennel seeds - 1/4 tspOil - 1 tbspMustard seeds - 1/2 tspUrad dal - 3/4 tspCurry leaves - 6-8 leavesSalt to taste Method Heat oil add mustard seeds, urad dal and curry leaves one by one.Allow to splutter and the dal to turn golden brown.Now, add in the small onions and fry until slightly softened. Add the garlic and fry for 1 mts.Add the tomatoes and fry untill it mashed then add chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder and salt.Add about 1/2 cup of water, cover and let cook on medium low until slightly thickened. The raw tomato smell should have gone and the onions should be fully cooked.Serve with idlly or dosai related searches : Onion
