Thai Green Beans

This recipe from Simply in Season makes a great side dish – or add chicken or tofu and serve over rice for a main dish.

5 cups green beans

2 tsp sesame oil

1/2 onion (chopped; I also added a small hot pepper)

2 Tbs ginger root (peeled and minced)

3 cloves garlic (minced)

3 Tbs soy sauce

2 Tbs Thai sweet chili sauce (I used a garlic/chili sauce)


1. Steam the green beans for 8-10 minutes or until lightly crunchy.


2. Saute’ the onion, ginger root, and garlic in the sesame oil in a large frying pan.


3. Add the sauces to taste and heat through.


Servings: 4


The Verdict: This was a very flavorful way to make green beans. It was a bit on the spicy side so next time I’ll use a little less of the chili sauce. DH approved.
