Ultimate Steak Fajitas
A lot of the dishes we choose to make is usually decided upon what we have in the kitchen or garden. We were overwhelmed with the amount of bell peppers and tomatoes we had, so we figured the best dish we can do, which we haven’t done before, was fajitas. And who better to go to for a recipe than Tyler Florence, who makes the “Ultimate” Steak Fajitas? That’s right – his fajita marinade was definitely intense and flavorful. Albeit, there were a lot of ingredients for the marinade, but trust me, it’s worth giving this recipe a shot. I mean, come on, who can resist Tyler Florence’s cute boyish charm? ![]() This is what you'll need to marinate the meat: 1 orange, 2 limes, olive oil, garlic cloves, chipotles in adobo, cilantro, cumin, and salt. ![]() Blend all of the ingredients together, then put it into a ziploc bag together with about 2 lbs of flank steak. ![]() Meanwhile, we prepared the fresh salsa for the fajitas. We just chopped up our homegrown tomatoes, along with jalapenos (or serrano), cilantro, onion, and a little bit of lime juice. Season with salt and pepper. ![]() After marinating for 2-4 hours, we grilled the flank steak on our stove, and cooked up the colorful bell peppers and onions with lime juice and olive oil. ![]() As you can see, the meat is definitely full of zesty flavor from all of the ingredients of the marinade, and not to mention, very tender. ![]() We also made a quick guacamole to go with these awesome steak fajitas. You can taste the freshness of each bite - from the tomatoes to the bell peppers to the avocadoes. What a complete and satisfying meal! Tyler Florence, you rock!
