Wedding Talk Wednesday- DIY & Decor
WHeeeeee! Time for some updates. Tomorrow, I have an AWESOME risotto recipe for you. And the day after that, it is comfort food eloping with crock pot in Mexico (<— This one is for my TV STAR bloggy bff!!!) So- exciting decisions: #1 We booked our photographers!!!! I’M IN LOVE!!!!!!!! LOVELOVELOVE their work…!! Please go read their blog, and obsesss over how mindblowing beautiful, wonderful, candid, fresh and lovely they are! #2 We FINALLY decided on locations.(ps have you checked out our wedding website??) DH Day Barns for the ceremony-
RIGHT?!?! Gorgeous! Unfortunately, there is no electricity, plumbing, or anything *practical* out there, so we had to look elsewhere for the reception. Sleeping Bear Empire Eagles property on M-72!
I cannot find pictures that do it justice…soooo BASICALLY, it is a giant arse field, with a little covered area, has a kitchen, nothing but trees surrounding it, and…my favorite parts: comes with a fire pit, and people can CAMP there! TJ and I knew we wanted our party wedding to be spent enjoying the company friends. None of this, whisk away at 11 into the dark, leaving everyone behind business. We KNOW we will be the ones up until all hours of the morning, jamming to our ipods (since the band will be long gone), and chowing down on s’mores. Oh yes, best believe there will be smores! Basically, we are trying to create the feel of a giant, backyard bbq- with great drinks, food, music, and laid back atmosphere. Some DIY projects I am in the midst of: Collecting plates from resale shops/yard sales (in the spring)/etc. I love the eclectic, laid back feel to this. To go along with that, I also have been buying vintage sheets from ebay, and cutting them with pinking shears to make napkins! SO easy, SOOO cheap. About $25 for 300 napkins. The Eagles property comes with 34 picnic tables. I am LOVING them. Some inspiration for dressing them up: Love love. I like the idea of setting them up banquet style, but feel that maybe they will be more “ladies in dresses” friendly if they are stand alone. Still no idea on what to do for table coverings…that *ISH* is expensive!!! Maybe just buying bolts of white fabric?? Ideas? Loving the striped straws/mason jars/backyard bar feel for the dranks And, sorry to let anyone down, but don’t be expecting cake. No, no. Won’t be a slice in sight. We are instead opting to do a cookies & ice cream bar. #1- neither one of us even likes cake. #2- HOW CUTE IS THIS?! Yeah. Ice Cream > Cutting Cake, fo sho. Other sweet details related to dessert- SQUEEE!! Can’t it just be July already??!!! Next week, I am sharing some deets on attire…!! Thank you for listening to putting up with my uncontrollable wedding planning frenzied blabbering. related searches : Wedding
