Starbucks' Pumpkin Spice Latte: the return to the menu and the recipe for making it at home

Fall has an unmistakable scent, that of the Pumpkin Spice Latte, the iconic coffee, pumpkin and spice drink that has won millions of fans around the world. With the arrival of red leaf season and cooler days, Starbucks is bringing this must-have loved by those seeking a warm, fragrant pampering back to its menu. If you too can't wait to enjoy it but want to save money or simply prepare it with ingredients you choose, we have the perfect solution!

In this article we reveal the recipe for making PSL at home, with all the secrets to achieve the same creaminess and unmistakable blend of spices that has made this drink a true symbol of autumn.


Ingredients for two Pumpkin Spice Latte

The pumpkin purée:

10 ounces pumpkin
butter
2 Tbsp sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp ginger
1/4 tsp nutmeg

For 2 latte:

10 ounces milk
2.7 ounces coffee
4 Tbsp pumpkin purée


For the decoration:

Whipped cream


How will Pumpkin Spice Latte be prepared?

1. Prepare the pumpkin puree.

Clean the pumpkin, cut the flesh into cubes and brown it in a pan with butter. Cover with a lid and cook over medium heat for about 20 minutes.

2. Blend the pumpkin with the spices.

Transfer the cooked pumpkin to a blender, add sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and ginger, then blend until smooth and creamy.

3. Heat the milk and add the puree

Heat milk in a small saucepan, add two tablespoons of pumpkin spice puree and stir with a whisk.

4. Add coffee and heat

Combine hot coffee and heat through without bringing to a boil.

5. Serve and decorate

Pour into a large cup, decorate with whipped cream and a sprinkling of cinnamon powder.
