Tired of mundane side dishes? Homemade pickled onions are the gourmet trick that gets everyone on the same page! In less than 5 minutes you prepare a sweet-and-sour condiment that is fragrant and ready to enjoy after 24 hours. Perfect for sandwiches, salads, cutting boards or simply as a seasonal savory treat. I'll explain how to make them!
What's in it?
Very simple ingredients (red onions, white wine vinegar, sugar, salt, pink pepper) and a chef's result guaranteed. A super easy preserve that adds flavor and character to any dish.
The quick 3-step process
- Cut onions into thin rounds after peeling and washing them well
- Boil vinegar, sugar, salt and pink pepper, then pour the liquid over the onions in sterilized jars and seal tightly
- Rest in the refrigerator for at least 24 h: the sweet-and-sour taste develops slowly, for a perfect, ready-to-taste preserve
