  • Use a pastry blender to blend the ingredients...til pea-sized crumbles...add water a little at a time.
  • Use the pastry blender (NOT YOUR HAND) to blend it in...til it is coming together in a big clump...don't want is sticky...so don't add too much water. Keep your hands out of the pastry as much as possible..
  • Take a sheet of waxed paper...sprinkle it with flour...take about 1/2 the pastry...put on the paper...sprinkle it with flour...then cover it with another piece of waxed paper...roll it out til it is the right thickness.
  • Pick it up...peel off one of the wax papers...aim and drop the crust into a 9" pie plate. poke holes in the bottom.
  • Peel the other paper off...and voila, you have a pie crust...that you haven't had to patch-work together.
  • Pour the berry mix into the bottom crust....put a few pats of butter onto the berries. Roll the top crust in the same way...plop it on...poke holes in the top.
  • Bake for 10-15 minutes at 415 degrees...then turn the oven down and bake at 350 for about 40 minutes.
  • Let the pie cool for several hours before cutting...if you cut it too soon, it will be a runny mess.
