3 tablespoons flour

1/4 teaspoon salt

3/4 cup sugar

1 cup sour cream, Greek yogurt, farmers cheese or cream cheese

1 teaspoon vanilla

1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

pinch cloves

1 teaspoon cinnamon

4-6 medium large apples

2 tablespoons lemon juice and cold water to cover


  • Pre-heat oven to 400 degrees.Prepare apples, place them in a bowl with lemon juice and cold water to prevent browning.
  • Roll out pie crust to fit a standard 10-11" pie dish.
  • Combine all filling ingredients in a bowl and whisk until smooth. Drain the apples from the water and lemon juice.
  • Fold the apples into filling mixture and pour into prepared pie shell. If you have a pie collar wrap the crust with it. If not use foil to tent the pie if it starts becoming too brown.
  • Bake for 15 minutes at 400 degrees. Reduce heat to 350 and bake for 30 minutes longer. Cover entire pie with aluminum foil if it's browned enough and bake an additional 15-20, you'll bake at 350 about.
