Green Chili Pickle (Aathela Marcha )


* 1 cup Split mustard seeds,
* 250 gms Green thick chilies (Jalapeno pepper ),
* 1 tbsp Split fenugreek seeds,
* 1 tsp Turmeric powder,
* 2 tbsp Oil,
* 3 tbsp Lemon juice or 2 tbsp Vinegar,
* 1 tsp Asafoetida powder,
* Salt to taste.

Wash and  clean the green chilies.
Slit  and cut all green chilies ( into round pieces or any shape It is your choice ).
Toss the chilies and take out the chilies seeds (other wise your pickle is very hot).
Take oil in a pan. Heat it for 2 min on medium flame.
Remove from flame and allow it  few minutes  cool. 
Now add  asafoetida, mustard seeds, fenugreek seeds,salt and  mix it very well.
When it gets completely cool add all green chilies and lemon juice into it, mix it very well.
Fill all the things into glass bottle and keep it for 2-3 days. Once in a day mix it well with the spoon in bottle itself.
Athela marcha is ready to eat after 2-3 days. It can last long for 15 days. If you want to keep it longer put in refrigerate.
It is a good going with  Thepla and Dhebra or any Gujarati dishes.
