Marinate the prawns/shrimp with above mentioned marinating ingredients for an 1/2-1 hour.
Heat oil in the pan and season with the cinnamon,cloves and curry leaves. Add the sliced onions,chopped garlic and chopped tomatoes one by one and cook till the tomatoes are mashed and form a thick paste.
Add little red chili powder,salt and stir for a few minutes till the oil separates from the masala. Add the marinated prawns and saute well.
Close the pan with a lid and cook on low fire for 10-12 minutes or till the water dries out. While serving garnish with coriander leaves.
