Ham balls in barbecue sauce

Ingredients

Number of serving: 6
2 eggs, beaten

1 1/2 cups soft bread crumbs

1/2 cup finely chopped onion

2 tablespoons whole milk

2 teaspoons dry mustard

1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper

10 oz ground cooked ham

14 oz ground pork

3/4 cup packed light brown sugar

1/2 cup ketchup

2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar

Preparation

  • Lightly grease a 2-quart rectangular baking dish; set aside. In a large bowl combine eggs, bread crumbs, onion, milk, 1 teaspoon of the dry mustard, and the pepper. Add ground ham and ground pork; mix well.
  • Shape into 12 balls, using about 1/3 cup mixture for each. Place ham balls in the prepared baking dish.
  • In a bowl combine brown sugar, ketchup, vinegar, and the remaining 1 teaspoon dry mustard. Stir until sugar is dissolved. Pour over ham balls.
  • Bake, uncovered, in a 350F oven about 45 minutes or until done (an instant-read thermometer inserted into the ham balls should register 160F).
