Number of serving: 4
Fresh full cream milk - 5 cups,

Unsalted Butter - 4 sticks,

Sugar - 1/2 cup(as needed),

Salt - a pinch,

Cardomom powder - 1/2 tsp(Optional),

Cashews/Pista - 3 for garnish,

Orange food colour - 1 pinch(Optional).


  • Heat the pan, add the butter and let it dissolve(don't let it to brown). Now add the milk and leave to boil.
  • Stiring continuously, after 4 boils keep in medium flame. When the milk reduces to 11/2 cups and thick, add the sugar, salt, food colour and stir well.
  • Be careful keep in low flame and stir till the right kova consistency is reached. When it leaves the pan without sticking, add the cardomom powder and stir well.
  • Convert to serving bowl and garnish with cashews/pista.
