2 cups Cooked rice

1 no Onion (big and chopped finely)

2 cups Radish (chopped finely)

few Curry leaves

1 teaspoon Mustard seeds, urad dal

1/4 teaspoon Asafoetida powder

1 teaspoon Red chilly powder


1 teaspoon Lemon juice

Dry roast and grind:

2 teaspoons Channadal

2 teaspoons Urad dal

2 teaspoons Coriander seeds

1 tablespoon Dessicated coconut


  • Grind all the ingredients given in the list'dry roast and grind' as fine powder.
  • Heat oil, let splutters mustard seeds,urad dal and asafoetida powder.
  • Add the onions,curry leaves and saute until the onions turns transculent.
  • Add immediately the radish chunks, salt, the grounded spice powder, chilli powder and saute everything for few minutes, add enough water and cook until the veggies get well cooked.
  • Now add the rice and lemon juice, toss everything gently.
  • Serve hot with papads or pickles..
