Sweet Potato - 2 Nos [ Had almost 2 cups after cubing them]

Grated Coconut - 2 tablespoons

Green chillie - 1 large

Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon

Turmeric powder - 1/4 teaspoon

Salt - 3/4 teaspoon

for seasoning on top [ I skipped this]

Oil - 1 teaspoon

Mustard seeds - 1/2 teaspoon

Curry leaves - 1 petal


  • Peel and wash the sweet potatoes. Cut them into small cubes and cook them with 1/2 cup of water in a pan.
  • Dry grind ingredients 2-4 in a mixer and keep.
  • Once the potatoes are 3/4th cooked, add salt and turmeric powder along with the ground coconut mix.
  • Mix it well and allow to cook for another 2 minutes. For seasoning, take a small pan and add oil.
  • Once hot, allow the mustared seeds to sputter and then add the curry leaves. Top this over the prepared puzhukku and serve hot.
