It's always useful to know how to make homemade mayonnaise. There are actually three types: mustard, vinegar, or lemon. Here we present a mayonnaise that is half mustard and half vinegar.

Preparation

  • Fail-proof homemade mayonnaise - Preparation step 1In a measuring cup, crack the egg and add the vinegar.
  • Fail-proof homemade mayonnaise - Preparation step 2Add the mustard and salt.
  • Fail-proof homemade mayonnaise - Preparation step 3Quickly mix it all using a fork, and when the mixture is homogeneous, let it sit for a few seconds. It is said that the mustard 'cooks' the egg.
  • Fail-proof homemade mayonnaise - Preparation step 4While mixing with an immersion blender, drizzle in the oil until the mayonnaise reaches the desired consistency.
  • Fail-proof homemade mayonnaise - Preparation step 5And there you have it, your mayonnaise is ready!

Observations

Egg white: You can remove it from your preparation, but your mayonnaise will be less light.

Utensil: Here we used an immersion blender, and it's thanks to this utensil that your mayonnaise will be fail-proof. However, if you prefer to use an electric whisk, that's commendable, but the result may not be as guaranteed :-)
