  • No-knead french baguettes - Preparation step 1In a bowl, put the flour and salt, and make a well in the center. Add the crumbled yeast (it must not touch the salt!). Pour in the warm water.

  • No-knead french baguettes - Preparation step 5In a baking tray, add some water, and place it underneath the rack that will hold your baguette mold. The presence of water is essential during baking, as the steam will help form a crispy crust.

Observations

Dry Yeast
If you are using dry yeast, you need 1 packet for this recipe. It should be dissolved in 1 tablespoon of water for a few minutes to rehydrate.

Convection Heat?
If you want a well-cooked bread, you can set your oven to convection heat. If you prefer it a little less cooked, natural convection will be suitable.

Just made this. Very easy. I converted the recipe to use dry active yeast and used 2 scant Tablespoons. Simple, quick and the family loved it. I’ll make this often. Thank you for sharing this recipe and video.
