Beat the butter until creamy. Add salt, egg white, vanilla extract, and powdered sugar, and mix well.
Add the flour and beat until a smooth dough forms. Transfer the dough to a container and microwave for 15 seconds to soften slightly.
Place the dough in a piping bag fitted with an 8 mm star nozzle. Pipe the cookies onto a parchment-lined baking sheet, forming "W" shapes (you can also make "S", "O", or "I" shapes).
Bake the cookies for 12 minutes at 350°F (180°C). Remove from the oven and let cool.
Melt the chocolate and dip half of the cookies in it. Allow the chocolate to dry by placing the cookies on a cold baking sheet, then chill.
All set!
Observations
Before putting the dough in the microwave, you can do a test: if the dough is too compact, heat it and it will be easier to use.
You can shape your cookies into "S" or "W" shapes, or into "O" or "I" shapes (much easier to shape!).
You can use a larger nozzle if you wish.
