Imagine a flaky croissant and a fragrant garlic bread. Mix them together and you get... Savoury Cruffins! Here, they're topped with a generous dose of Parmesan and gooey mozzarella, for a result that's ultra-crisp on the outside and soft at the centre. Perfect for a change-of-pace appetizer that's sure to please all your guests! Try them now, you'll love them ;)

Ingredients

1 package of croissant dough
1 oz softened butter
1/2 clove garlic
1 teaspoon chopped parsley
1/2 teaspoon pepper
2 tablespoons Parmesan cheese
2 tablespoons mozzarella, grated

Mix the softened butter, crushed garlic clove, parsley and pepper.
Unroll the croissant dough and flatten it with a rolling pin if necessary.
Spread the butter mixture over the entire surface of the dough.
Cut the dough in half crosswise and roll the two pieces into logs.
Then cut the logs in half to make four.
Finally, cut the rolls in half lengthways.
Coil the dough in a greased ramekin and top with approximately 1/2 tablespoon of Parmesan cheese and 1/2 tablespoon of grated mozzarella.
*You can adjust these quantities to suit your tastes!
Do the same with the other 3 pieces of dough.
Bake the cruffins in an oven preheated to 350°F/180°C for 20 minutes.
*We used the fan setting, but you can also use the conventional setting.
Carefully remove them from the ramekins and they're ready! Lovely, warm, comforting cruffins await you :-).

Can dough be rolled out in one go?

You can also roll out the dough in one go, cut it into quarters and then cut the four pieces lengthwise.

Can I put the cheese directly into the dough?

Yes, you can, but when you cut your pieces lengthwise, some of the filling will escape and it will be more difficult to handle.

Can I use a different seasoning?

Of course, feel free to add your choice of herbs, spices and even other cheeses!

Can you freeze cruffins?

Yes, you can freeze them, before or after cooking (if you freeze them before cooking, they will take longer to cook; if you freeze them after cooking, they will only need to be reheated).

How to store cruffins?

You can store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
