Unroll the pastry sheet. Cut the camembert wheel in half horizontally and place one half in the center of the pastry.
Place a slice of prosciutto on the half camembert, along with previously minced and cooked onions.
Close the camembert with the other half, and cut the pastry into 8 sections. Fold the pastry over the camembert, overlapping each piece for a nice finish. Brush with the beaten egg.
Bake for 20 minutes at 375°F (190°C).
And there you have it, your flaky camembert is ready!
Observations
Additions: Depending on your taste, you can pair it with any other ingredients, as long as they are small enough to fit comfortably under the puff pastry. Herbs will also be welcome, as well as honey for a sweet/savory version ;-)
Serving: When the camembert comes out of the oven, you might be tempted to cut it and devour it right away. However, don't hesitate to wait 5 to 10 minutes for the camembert to cool down, otherwise it might melt all over your serving dish!

Questions
Do you serve it straight from the oven? Several recipes seem to leave it to set for 30 minutes before serving. Thank you Dianne
We recomand to wait a little before serving because it can be very hot !
