Garlic and brown sugar covered cream cheese ball

Ingredients

Number of serving: 6
1/2 cup cream cheese

3/4 cup sharp white cheddar cheese

1 big fat clove of garlic minced

salt and black pepper to taste

2 tbsp butter

2 tbsp brown sugar

3 tbsp chopped pecans

Preparation

  • Mix together the garlic, cream cheese, cheddar cheese, salt and pepper. Shape gently into one tennis balls. and chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour. Meanwhile, heat together the butter and brown sugar until the sugar is incorporated with the butter. You can do this either on the stove top or in the microwave, but be sure to stir continually so that they do not separate. allow to cool at room temperature. Spread the brown sugar mix over the chilled cheese ball.This process does involve a fair bit of scooping up the mixture and letting it drip back down; you want to have a good coverage of the brown sugar mix over the entire ball.

    Sprinkle the crushed nuts over the ball or roll which ever works best for you. (Chill before presenting as a gift). Serve at room temperature with crackers. Store covered at room temperature for up to 1 week.
