{Store Bought Green Monster}

By The Travelling Tastebuds (Visit website)

I did it!!!  I ran FIVE miles in an hour… everybody give me a *woohoo*!!!  I am so so proud of myself… it was tough.  Especially the last 5-10 minutes of the run… but I wanted it so badly.  And I kept thinking of all the bloggers out there that can run 7-8 miles an hour… and the chick right next to me who actually was running 7-8 miles an hour while reading her NOOK… can you believe the NERVE of that girl!!!  :)  But I pushed on through… and I feel great!!!

As a new runner… I am learning my way around the sport… and I’ve discovered a few tricks that help me with treadmill running.  First… variety is the spice of life.  Varying your speed & incline every few minutes makes the hour go by so MUCH faster.  Second… if you feel like quitting… up the pace for a minute or two.  That will not only improve your speed… but it will make your slower pace feel like a walk in the park.   Do you have some tips you would like to share?

Towards the end of my run… my feet started to hurt… and much to my dismay… I realized that I may need a new pair of running shoes.  I have another pair at home that I may try… but if those don’t do the trick… well then I guess I’ll be asking you for advice on proper running shoes.  I just HAD to get Nicole’s cute little toes in the snapshot.  That girl is getting SO good at posing… I told her to stand right here… & she did it!!!  I think she :love: the camera… cuz’ she knows just how darn cute she looks!!!

Post-workout… I ate a banana and sipped on my store bought version of the “green monster”.  I keep reading about the “green monster” all over the blogosphere… and never once felt tempted to try one of my own… until I found this one just sitting there in the fridge.

Look at those ingredients!!!  Artichoke???  Green Tea???  Wheat Grass???  Garlic???  Spinach???  Blue Green ALGAE???  HUH?!?!?!  Is there fruit in there?

Low & behold… it’s delicious!!!  I finished off the bottle & am eager to buy more.  And yes… there is fruit… it’s sweet… & thick {like a smoothie}.  I’m a huge fan… and this is WAY better than any “green monster” I could possibly concoct at home.

By the way… I’ve added a separate page for my Avon Walk For Breast Cancer.  If you would like to make a donation… you can do so by clicking on that page!  YAY!  :)
