Today I thought I would post some ideas for Advent Calendars, even though we are already 10 days into December! The chocolate advent calendars that most people think of are off limits for most milk and nut allergies so here are a few ideas we use.

Wall hanging - I've had this for years and my mom had something similar when we were growing up. You just need to make sure to split up the days over your kids ahead of time. My sisters and I would fight over who got to hang the last ornament up on Christmas Day, LOL! Target had a smaller version in their Dollar Spot, but I think it was $2.50.

This year we put together this kit I found on sale after Christmas last year from Martha Stewart Crafts. It was a little more difficult than I thought it would be to put together but in the end worked out great. I was able to fill it with safe candies before putting on the final covering.

It was a great way to use up some of the Halloween treats we still have around! The only drawback is after all the work of putting it together we won't be able to reuse it. There are wooden little houses that are similar that I have seen at places like Target. Maybe I can pick one up after Christmas this year?
Last year I bought one of the Lego Advent Calendars. It was fun for my son to get a little toy each day instead of candy. There are some other themes available as well, My Little Pony Ponyville, Littlest Pet Shop, and Playmobil to name a few.
I hope those ideas are helpful!
Now on to the giveaway link.... Besides preparing for the Christmas holidays, I've been trying to figure out what to do with an old desktop computer and have been pondering putting it in our kitchen. That is until I saw this giveaway at Totally Together Reviews for a new HP Touchsmart Computer. It sounds like a great computer for the family and looks nice too! Head over there to enter, maybe one of us will win!
