Almond based vegan tahini sauce/ sour cream recipe

While experimenting with almonds and making gyros, I came up with sauce. It is just lovely the way blended almonds create a creamy sauce. And if you chill it before serving, it makes it all the better. This sauce is good with this pita bread, filled with veggies and falafel.

For this recipe you will need:



A blender or food processor

1 cup slivered almonds

1/2 cup water

1/4 cup lemon juice

1 tablespoon honey



Add all of the ingredients to blender and blend very well. You will need to blend until creamy, and having a good blender really helps. I use the chopper portion of the ninja. Refrigerate for a few hours and serve. Enjoy!
