Arisi Parupu Sadam Recipe
Here's another one of my favourites.. Arisi Parupu Sadam from Kongunadu cuisine, one that brings a lotta childhood memories .. sunday specials wen i was kid at home and after a long time something from my dad's kitchen.. this easy to make recipe is yummy and very healthy for growing kids.. its almost the same as dal rice but a bit more spicier and tastier...anyone can try it out and not go wrong in it.. it def has an extra zing to it that a normal parupu sadam doesnt have... here is it from my dad's kitchen.. Arisi Parupu Sadam Recipe Ingredients Rice - 2 cups - pressure cooked Dal - 1 1/2 cups - pressure cooked Onion - 1 medium sized Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp Channa dal - 1 to 2 tbsp Urud dal - 1 tbsp Turmeric powder - 1/2 tbsp Green chillies - 2 to 3 - slit in the middle Asafoedia - a small pinch Curry leaves - very few Oil/Ghee to saute Salt to taste Method In a kadai, add a little oil, splutter the mustards, add the dals and curry leaves, fry well. Now add the chillies and turmeric powder. Chop the onions finely and add to the kadai, fry till golden brown adding some ghee. Now mix in the cooked dal, add salt and asafoetida, mash and cook for few mins. Swtich off the flame, add the rice slowly and mix continously, adding salt as required. You may add red chillies, ginger-garlic paste and even a lil bit garam masala if u like, the spices totally depends upon ur liking, tho this is the typical way of doing authentic Arisiparupu Sadam, best served with Rice appalams! related searches : Arisi
