CELERY DAL CURRY

Celery is highly nutritious.It helps in lowering the blood pressure,cholesterol,neutralizes acidity,.has anti-cancer compounds,prevents the formation and development of colon and stomach cancer,relieves constipation,regulate body fluids and stimulate urine production,gives relief for arthritis,asthma,bronchitis etc,helps normal functioning of kidneys by removing toxins from body,helps in breaking and elimination of urinary and gall bladder stones.

INGREDIENTS





Moon dal-----------------1 cup

Celery---------------------2cups,chopped

Turmeric powder--------1/2 tsp

Green chilly--------------2,slit length wise

Salt as needed





For tempering

Ghee-----------------------1 tsp

Mustard seeds-----------1/4 tsp

Dried red chilly-----------1

Curry leaves--------------a sprig





METHOD



Pressure cook moong dal with needed salt,water and turmeric powder.The dal should be over cooked and mashed.
Then add chopped celery,green chilly, needed salt and water to it and cook uncovered.
Once the celery is fully cooked,transfer it to serving bowl.
Next do the tempering.For this,in a medium heat pan add a tsp of ghee and splutter mustard seeds,dried red chilly and curry leaves.
Now pour this tempering to the above bowl and serve hot with Chapathi,puri,plain rice etc.
