Ingredients

Number of serving: 1
Methi leaves - 1 cup

Toor dal - 1/2 cup

Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon

A pinch of hing

Oil - 1 tablespoon

Fenugreek seeds - 1/2 teaspoon

Mustard seeds - 1 teaspoon

Urad dal - 1 teaspoon

Curry leaves - 1 tablespoon

Onion - 1 no

Tomatoes - 1 no

Red chilly powder - 1 teaspoon

Tamarind extract - 1 tablespoon

Salt to taste

Ghee - 1/2 teaspoon

Preparation

  • Combine the dal, 1/4 tsp of turmeric powder & a pinch of hing. Pressure cook them.
  • Heat oil in the kadai, add fenugreek seeds, mustard seeds, urad dal and curry leaves.
  • Once splutter, add finely chopped onion. Saute till tender.
  • Add finely chopped riped tomato, red chilly powder, salt and finely chopped methi leaves.
  • Finally, add the cooked dal and tamarind extract. Cook for 5 more mins on medium flame.
  • Before switching off the flame, add ghee and corriander leaves.
  • Serve with rice.
