Funny breakfast table talk

By Real Fit Mama (Visit website)

Upon waking this morning at 6:30 the conversation quickly became interesting.

Regan: “Mommy it’s Christmas!”

Me: “What?!”

Regan: “It’s snowing so it must be Christmas.”

Me: “No honey. It’s not Christmas yet. It’s Spring…I think, but let me check.”

Sure enough. It was snowing. WTF!?

I turned around in disgust and went to take a shower. In the far back corners of my mind I was hoping I would emerge from the shower and all the snow would be gone…you know…like it was a nightmare.

Wrong…

It was still really snowing. :( I know I shouldn’t be complaining because there are far worse things going on in the world right now, but this is what I personally am dealing with at this moment. And I’m sick of snow! If that makes me look shallow (I donated to the Red Cross) so be it.

Once the girls and I had established that it was, in fact, Spring (I’m still not convinced) we decided what to eat for breakfast. I was having oats (of course) and the girls were debating over waffles or cereal. They’re super adventurous eaters – can’t ya tell!

Chocolate Cherry Overnight Oats + Coffee = a breakfast of champions!

The breakfast table conversation quickly turned very shallow! Somehow we went from talking about Team Jacob or Team Edward (I am Team Anti-Twilight) to who is the cutest guy on television.

My choice is and always will be Johnny: (photo source)

Linsey says some kid named Gregg Sulkin (photo source) is her pick.

Regan picked Little Bill (probably because he makes her laugh) and I have to agree…he is a cutie. ;) (photo source)

What kind of conversations do you have at the breakfast table??

No matter how calmly you try to referee, parenting will eventually produce bizarre behavior, and I’m not talking about the kids. Their behavior is always normal. ~ Bill Cosby
