Garlic Spaghetti - a delicious way to combat the common cold!
![]() Pasta is always a favorite in my kitchen and appears on the menu on a weekly basis. When I saw this recipe for Garlic Spaghetti on Jungle Frog's website, I knew it would be perfect for this time of the year when everyone has the sniffles because of the change of seasons. What, will you ask, has garlic got to do with the "common cold"? Well, I remember my grandma smelling like a freshly squashed garlic clove all through winter and she never had a cold, but research have now found that: "........... a daily garlic supplement containing allicin, a purified component of garlic considered to be the major biologically active agent produced by the plant, reduced the risk of catching a cold by more than half." So, if this is true, why can we not have it in our pasta......loads of it!!! The original recipe can be found here, but I wanted more garlic, so I oven-roasted 2 whole bulbs of garlic and added it to Jungle Frog's recipe. I also added some whole tomatoes. If you haven't seen Jungle Frog's site yet, please make time to visit her site. She is a fantastic photographer and just the Header on her site, leaves me in awe everytime!!! related searches : Garlic
