Hair Cut, Getting Lost, and Seafood
Of course my first weekend free of school things has to be the busiest weekend of all. John and I left here around 10 am for our hair appointments. Yes, John goes with me to the salon and we both see the same stylist. After that we stopped at Wawa for coffee then headed to Target to get my mom a frame for the picture I got her for Mother's Day.
After Target, it was time to head to New Jersey for the fingerprints. We left plenty of time and I'm really glad that we did. We got lost! At some point after getting out of Pennsylvania and into New Jersey, we made a wrong turn and were going in the complete wrong direction. Since we don't have a GPS, we had to rely on my iPhone to get us to our destination. I was afraid that we'd be late, but we made it on time. And it took the guy about 2 minutes to fingerprint me! It took us an hour and a half to drive there with getting lost. And then another hour and a half to drive home because of traffic. Check out the normal Philly traffic for a Saturday afternoon. It's stopped in both directions. On the way home we were hungry for lunch, so we stopped at Qdoba. I had a taco salad with diced chicken, salsa verde, and lots of hot sauce. I ate a small piece of the shell and John also had a few bites of it as well. After that we stopped at BJ's to pick up some stuff that we needed. Then we headed home and finally got to relax for a bit. I'm over halfway done my book. Law school has taught me to read so fast that I actually fly through pleasure books because there's no thinking involved. Then we headed out to dinner at Legal Sea Food. We really like this place because of the focus on sustainable, clean foods. I started with the Tortilla, Apple, and Goat Cheese Salad. It had all the things in the name plus romaine lettuce, roasted red peppers, and avocado. For my entree, I had Parmesan Crusted Scallops. They were baked in a crock with some parmesan cheese on top and with a little bacon and an apricot and onion salsa. These were excellent. They came with a rice pilaf and some grilled asparagus. After dinner, we stopped at our old ice cream place that was near where we used to live. It's a farm area with goats, chickens, bunnies, horses, and cows. We enjoyed eating our ice cream while we watched the animals. I had a kids size coffee which was basically one little scoop. It was the perfect size to have a sweet treat, but still kept the calories down. That is always my trick, to order ice cream in small sizes. Otherwise, I'd eat a whole gallon of it! Since tomorrow is Mother's Day and we'll be on the go, I'll post when I can. Enjoy Mother's Day! related searches : Hair
