Hidden Gluten Free Gifts in Neighborhood Stores
I have discovered some amazing boutique stores in the neighborhoods of Seattle this holiday season. I made a conscious decision to support local small stores for my local friends and family's gifts. Seattle has some amazing little neighborhoods with the most environmentally conscious, eclectic and tastiest of treats for everyone!
A few of my new favorite stores and suggestions for local Seattleites ... Upper Queen Anne  Chocolopolis - 1527 Queen Anne Ave. N - beautiful handmade truffles, packaged chocolates from around the world, chocolate bars to chocolate for drinking ... speaking of cocoa ... I bought this amazing hot cocoa as a gift for a "close friend" ... eh um ...Cocoa Casbah - Kama Sutra a chocolate potion with coconut, cardamom and clove ... Oh my! Let's just say ... you will not be able to resist this ... in the raw out of the can! Anyway ... Chocolopolis offers a frequent bar club - for every different bar that you buy you will get a stamp, after the 10th you will get a bar of equal or lesser value for free! Hey I think a Gift Certificate, a new stamp card with a stamp and a chocolate bar make a great easy gift for someone ... don't you think? You can order some treats for yourself while you are there too! There is a second location in Bellevue at the Bravern. ?????  Look Charles! They are little chocolate mushrooms!?????  Wink Cupcakes - 1817 Queen Anne Ave N - is a Boutique Catering Company and bakery. Monday is the day to walk in an get a Gluten Free cupcake either chocolate or vanilla. If you would like more than one for a special occasion, please call them at 206 856 1600 to place a special order by the dozen. It is a perfect gift to bring to a party because there is always more than one Gluten Free Foodie at a party! Fremont  Bitters Co - 513 N 36th Street - This not so typical general store is a gem offering well crafted, unique gifts from around the world! This is a family owned and operated business. All items are Fair Trade. A few of my favorite finds ... Cork Wine Bottle stoppers with the bark still on for easy grabbing and a Cinnamon Wood box! This Asian Cinnamon box is naturally scented and will energize your mind ... enhance your creative powers! It even says so in writing on a nice little paper included inside the box! The aroma is absolutely amazing! It makes a great sugar enhancer ... I put my palm sugar in it to absorb the flavor. I am also going to put some bath salts in another one ... yes, I love cinnamon that much! The lovely little round box is made from the bark of a cinnamon tree! I got one for my mom ... shh! I wanted to buy the whole display because I love these so much. I thought it was best to leave them so you can love and give them too!This is my favorite unique find of the season! Ballard  Bark Natural Pet Care - 5338 Ballard Ave NW, Seattle, WA 98107 - I bought Mac a new soft, sporty style harness and a few treats for his stocking ... shh ... he still believes in Santa! Call them for more info 206 633 BARK - for your Gluten Free furry friend! They offer allergy free pet treats - Wheat Free, Corn Free and Soy Free!
