Highest mountain
Monday morning started very very early. We wanted to get to Pikes Peak early so that we can drive up the mountain, visit Garden of the Gods and visit with some of Dan?s parents? friends. Busy day!
We started the morning at Snooze. This is the fourth time I?ve been here and since we arrived before 7 am we didn?t have to wait for a seat! Yay! Dan?s Dad ordered the salmon Benedict. I apparently focused more on the hash browns than on the Benedict?Oh well
The rest of us ordered pancakes so I just photographed mine. I got the flight of three pancakes and I chose the strawberry rhubarb pancake.
The pineapple upside down pancake (my favorite)
And the basic buttermilk pancake (so as not to have overwhelming sweetness)
From Snooze we drove to Colorado Springs and made our way up the terrifying road to the top of Pikes Peak. Dan did a great job driving, it was terrifying. We got to the top and boy was it cold! We layered on all of the layers we could find in the car. The view was pretty impressive though. The ride down was less scary, but still impressive. By the time I got home I was exhausted, and it was only 5pm! We later had a nice quiet dinner at Le Central one of our favorites!(no pics)
