Pear & Walnut Tart with Sweet Pastry Dough
A couple of weeks ago I bought this baking book, bake! by Nick Malgieri due to some serious baking insecurities about my pastry, bread - really, anything dough related skills. When I purchased bake!, my thought process was to complete every recipe cover to cover. However, there are A LOT of recipes, and this would be a forever long project. So, instead, I'm going to complete a recipe from each section, there's about four or five recipes per section, and I will share that recipe with everyone.
For my first recipe, I decided to go with the Pear & Walnut tart made with sweet pastry dough. It just so happened that it was Andre's birthday and he was all over the idea of having the tart for his birthday cake. The tart was a success! Everything about the tart - presentation, texture of the pear, consistency of the walnut filling and the crust was perfect. I apologize for the length of this post, and vow to include many more pictures if I have any lengthy posts in the future. I find with more complex recipes, the more pictures there are the easier it is to follow the recipe. (I'm a visual learner.) related searches : Pear
