Warm coleslaw??

While making my thai grilled chicken the other night, I was in need of a quick and easy sidedish that would go great with grilled meat. Both Shawn and I are huge coleslaw fans, and I try new recipes regularly.

I logged into the food network to see if anyting tickled my fancy and came across a recipe for a warm bacon cabbage slaw. Huh?? Warm? Coleslaw is not supposed to be warm and this one didn't even call for any mayonnaise or buttermilk?!

Not one to shy away from a bacon recipe though I started prepping the cabbage and frying my bacon.


This recipe is quick....quicker if you can remember which food area of the kitchen the apple cider vinegar is hidden, but quick none-the-less.

I don't think it will take the place of my normal coleslaw with mayonnaise and almonds, but the flavours of the mustard and vinegar were great! And the bacon as you can see, actually made it's way into the dish I was preparing, rather than just being eaten once cooked.
