Travel to Argentina with this delicious recipe ! A butter cookie sandwich with dulce de leche ( a caramel spread made with condensed milk) and dipped in grated coconut ;-)

  • Argentinian alfajores - Preparation step 1Mix the egg yolks with vanilla extract.
    In an other bowl, combine flour, cornstarch and baking powder.
  • Argentinian alfajores - Preparation step 2Mix softened butter and sugar with the flat beater until creamy.
  • Argentinian alfajores - Preparation step 3Add the egg yolks and vanilla mix gradually and then add the flour, cornstarch and baking powder mix gradually.
  • Argentinian alfajores - Preparation step 4Form a ball with the dough and wrap it in plastic wrap. Refrigerate for 30 minutes. Remove from the fridge and when it's at room temperature, flour your work surface and spread the dough.
  • Argentinian alfajores - Preparation step 5With a 2 inches cookie cutters, form the butter cookies. Put them on a perforated baking tray with a baking sheet and bake for 10 minutes at 350°F (180°C).
  • Argentinian alfajores - Preparation step 6Remove from oven and leave to cool down. Spread some dulce de leche on the cookies and close to make a sandwich. Squeeze gently.
  • Argentinian alfajores - Preparation step 7Roll the sandwich in grated coconut. The coconut will stick to the dulce de leche.
