Ham and egg quiche
When you want to prepare a quick and easy homemade meal, quiche is the way to go! Here, add ham, eggs, and for a comforting touch: mozzarella cheese :-) It's a great opportunity to use up leftovers from the fridge and pantry in a simple and effective recipe :-) Feel free to vary the flavors by adding a hint of fresh herbs here and a few spices there... Place the shortcrust pastry in the pie dish, prick the bottom with a fork, and pre-bake for 20 minutes at 350°F.
Mix 3 eggs with the cream, salt, and pepper.
Add the diced ham and chopped chives, and mix well.
Pour this mixture over the pre-baked pastry, and sprinkle with grated mozzarella.
Then, break the remaining 3 eggs directly onto the quiche.
Bake for 30 minutes at 350°F.
And there you have it, your ham and egg quiche is ready!
Observations
Reheating the quiche: Be careful, if you didn't know, hard-boiled eggs tend to explode when reheated in the microwave. Avoid reheating this quiche in the microwave, or you might have surprises!
