Lemongrass chilly potatoes

3 medium size (abt 400g) potatoes - boiled until soft and cut into big cubes with the skin on

3 tbsp dried prawns - soaked in water for 10 mins and drained (omit if you are a vegetarian)

I medium size (abt 80g) tomato - sliced as thin as possible

4 shallots - sliced thinly

5 tbsp oil

salt to taste

To Blend/Ground:

4 red chillies

2 lemongrass


  • When oil is heated, fry the dried prawns till crispy, remove and keep aside.
    In the same oil, saute the shallots for 3-4 mins, then add the blended ingredients as well as the tomatoes.
    Cook till a thick gravy forms and oil starts to float.
    Add in the potatoes and keep stirring until all the gravy dries up totally.
    Lastly goes in the fried dried prawns and salt sparingly.
    Mix and stir all together for another 3-4 min after which remove from heat.
