Mutton mee hoon soup

Number of serving: 3
300 g mutton (with bones)

1 teaspoon blended/grounded ginger

1 talepoon all purpose flour

1/2 teaspoon salt

Mix all these ingredients and keep aside.

Other ingredients:

3 potatoes (cubed in chunks)

4 cloves garlic (chopped)

1/2 tablespoon dried rosemary

1 tablespoon crushed black pepper (or as your prefer)

1 tablespoon coriander powder

1 teaspoon cumin powder

1/2 litre water

2 tablespoon olive oil

1 stalk of coriander leaves (sliced)

1 stalk of spring onion (sliced)

mee hoon (as needed, blanch in hot water for 4 min, then in running water, drain)


  • When oil is heated fry the garlic until golden brown and crispy.
  • Remove and keep for garnishing later. Into the same oil, fry the mutton for 5 minutes.
  • Add in water, potatoes and all the spices. Let it simmer over low heat.
  • Check to see whether the mutton and potatoes are cooked.
  • Once this is done, off the heat. Into a serving bow, add the needed amount of mee hoon and mutton soup on top.
  • Garnish with the fried garlic, coriander and spring onions.
