- In a skillet, dry roast sesame seeds, peanuts, dhaniya and jeera one after the other.
- In a kadai, heat oil. Add chopped tomato and cook until everything becomes mushy. Cool everything.
- Put everything in a blender or mixie, add tamarind pulp and salt. Grind to a fine paste.
- For tadka, heat oil in a skillet, do the popu in the given order, immediately add to the ground mixture.
- Serve warm with rice/dosa/idly.
