In the bowl of the mixer, add the flour, salt, and sugar, and form a well. Add the crumbled yeast (be careful not to let it touch the salt!). Add the water and milk, and knead at medium speed for a few minutes.
Then add the butter cut into small pieces gradually while kneading. When the butter is well incorporated, let the dough rise at room temperature for 1 hour.
After this time, place your dough on a lightly floured work surface. Shape it by hand to form a rough rectangle. Fold the dough in thirds, then turn it 90°.
Roll it out again into a rectangle, and fold it in thirds. Press down well, then roll it to form a log. Place it in the buttered loaf pan.
Apply beaten egg on the dough, trying not to let it drip onto the edges to avoid sticking when unmolding. Let it rise for 1 hour at room temperature.
Bake for 35 minutes at 340°F (170°C).
And there you have it, your sandwich bread is ready!
