2 tablespoons sweet pickle relish
1 small onion, peeled and finely minced
½ teaspoon salt or to taste
¾ teaspoon sugar or to taste
¼ teaspoon white pepper.

Preparation

In a large mixing bowl combine the flaked tuna meat, pickle relish and onion. Add in mayonnaise, salt, sugar and white pepper.
Carefully stir to mix evenly and until a homogenous mixture is attained.
Taste and adjust the seasonings. You can transfer this in a bowl and start spreading in your sliced bread.
But better yet, transfer first in a tightly covered jar and let stand inside the fridge overnight for its taste to fully develop.
