Express cheese naans
For an appetizer or simply during your meal, try our quick cheese naans with "Laughing Cow" cheese! A crispy and soft result that stands on its own ;-) Step by step, we explain how we achieved this result with our illustrated written instructions and our video recipe! It's your turn to play :-)
Ingredients
Topping (optional):
Materials
- 1 rolling pin (optional)
- 1 brush (optional)
Preparation
Unroll the pizza dough and place 3 to 4 Laughing Cow cheese on top (You'll need a little less than one per naan). Cut the dough into 4 pieces.
Spread the Laughing Cow cheese in the center of each piece of dough and remove any excess if necessary. Fold the edges of the dough towards the center and press well to seal.
Carefully roll out the naan using a rolling pin. Melt some butter in a pan.
Cook the naans for 2 minutes on each side. You can cook them all at once if you wish.
For the topping (optional but delicious):
Mix the melted butter with the crushed garlic clove and chopped parsley, and brush it on top of the naans for extra flavor. And there you have it, it's ready! Treat yourself to our dahl recipe to enjoy with it :-D
Observations
Can I freeze cheese naans?
You can freeze your naans once cooked!
I don't have a rolling pin, what can I do?
You can use a glass bottle, for example, or a paper towel roll if it's sturdy enough.
I don't have Laughing Cow cheese, can I use any spreadable cheese in the naans?
It's better to use Laughing Cow cheese as it doesn't harden when cooled, unlike other traditional fresh cheeses.
Cheese is leaking from my bread while rolling, what should I do?
Don't worry, the cheese won't overflow during cooking; it's not a problem if you have one or more holes in your dough.
Can I use homemade pizza dough?
Yes, you can, but this recipe is meant for when you're short on time. If you have time, it's better to make the authentic naan dough recipe. We have a recipe on our site: type "Cheese naans, Indian cheese breads" in the search bar of our site to find it directly.
What can I serve with my naans?
You can eat them as they are for an appetizer or use them to dip into spreads, for example. You can also enjoy them as a side dish with Indian dishes, like red lentil dahl or tandoori chicken. You will also find these recipes on our site.
