Today, we are trying this round bread straight from the Middle East: pita bread! Super easy to make, especially with our written explanations, photos, and video, you can easily recreate this recipe at home. When it comes to tasting, you can devour it as is throughout the meal or cut it in half to fill it like a sandwich. One last idea: spread it with ricotta and then sprinkle with a drizzle of olive oil + coarse salt... A delight :-)

Put flour, salt, sugar, and olive oil in a bowl.
Mix warm water and dry yeast. Let it rest for 10 minutes.
Pour the water and yeast mixture into the bowl and knead. When the dough is ready, let it rest for at least 1 hour at room temperature.
Degas the dough (flatten to remove air) and divide it into four equal pieces (about 85 g) and roll out these pieces.
Cook the pita breads in a hot pan over medium heat for about 3 minutes on each side.
There you go, your pita bread is ready!
Observations
If you don't have a stand mixer, mix with a spoon and finish kneading by hand. The dough is very easy to work with.
You can store the dough in the refrigerator in an airtight container to reuse or bake it the next day.
